- Measure the glass: width × height.
- Cut the film to the glass size, allowing an extra 1 inch on each side for final trimming.
- Move furnishings and other items away from the glass.
- Cover nearby furnishings with a protective sheet to shield them from installation solutions.
- Clean the glass with glass cleaner or shampoo.
- Check that the glass surface is clean and free from dirt or dust.
- Spray film installation solution over the entire glass surface.
- If film installation solution is unavailable, mix approximately 1–2 drops of mild baby shampoo with water in a spray bottle and spray it evenly over the glass.
- Place the cut film onto the glass and slide it into alignment with the edges.
- Squeegee the surface thoroughly, working across each area and leaving no air bubbles.
- Work from the centre towards the window edges, from top to bottom and from left to right.
- Take care when trimming excess film to avoid notches or gaps that let light through and may require replacement of the film.
- If water remains around the window edges, wrap a squeegee in tissue and remove it until the edges are dry.
